We did it!
We crossed the finish line on another Creative Sprint®
Congratulations to everyone who joined in our October Creative Sprint® !
This is the 10th year we’ve hosted this 30-day creative practice challenge and I always get so much out of participating. Every day in October we created and shared in our private LinkedIn group and in addition, we created the ROI of Creativity Summit and invited guest experts to join us live each week for even more inspiration and motivation.
This year I took notes of how I was feeling each week - here’s what happened:
Week 1: I feel my energy level increasing as I take 5-20 minutes to respond to the daily prompts.
Week 2: I notice I am finding it easier to come up with new approaches to other things in my work and get unstuck quicker.
Week 3: I am feeling the flow and finding myself able to focus on tasks better.
Week 4: I am feeling light-hearted and playful and even making myself laugh.
Week 5: My confidence in my ability to make things happen has increased and I have so many new ideas for what to do next.
It’s not about making something amazing each day, its about exercising your creative muscles with small intentional actions each day. This is a cumulative process, it builds as you go, but it doesn’t take a lot of time to see a real impact.
What is one creative action you can do today?
Would you like to bring Creative Sprint® to your workplace or another group this year? Join our next Creative Instigator cohort to learn how!

Small Businesses, Big Impact
The government may have been shut down but the work in DC continued!
Last month, I joined with hundreds of entrepreneurs from across the country on Capitol Hill to advocate for small businesses. Small businesses like-ours are a driving force in the economy in America. But as I talk with my fellow business owners I hear just how hard everyone has it right now. Thanks to the lawmakers who met with us to hear about our challenges and listen to our ideas. There’s so much more we need to do to help people start, stabilize and scale their businesses.
I am grateful to Goldman Sachs for the continued support of Another Limited Rebellion and thousands of other businesses like our for this meaningful opportunity and special appreciation goes out to all the security and building staff that made this practically possible.
Supporting small businesses is more important than ever right now so be sure to shop small whenever possible!

Already got your flu shot?
What else can you do to boost immunity this winter? Go to a museum!
The Guardian wrote about a fascinating study which shows that experiencing art has major benefits that will help you stay healthy this season.
Here are a few simple ways to bring those benefits into your workplace:
🖼️ Host rotating exhibitions in a common area. Fresh perspectives keep energy and engagement high. The Martin Agency started a program where staff curate themed exhibitions of local artists!
🏛️ Start a corporate collection. There’s a reason the world’s leading financial institutions invest in art, it fuels creativity, connection, and focus. Noah Scalin is one of the many artists in the collection of Capital One!
🖌️ Commission original artwork. Make your HQ a destination that tells your organization’s story and inspires everyone who walks through the doors. We created participatory artworks for PlanRVA & Feed More that highlight their commitment to community!
👩🎨 Host a staff art show. We’ve learned from our work with over 200 organizations that ARTISTS ARE EVERYWHERE. Celebrate your team’s creativity and build community at the same time. Christie’s staff art show doubles as a charity fundraising auction.
Is there original artwork in your workplace?
